Handling and storage of dangerous cargo must have certain procedures, for which Port of Iquique (EPI) is governed by the rule of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), through Resolution No. 96 1997. The handling of dangerous cargo considers two treatments: The task involves the direct treatment that does not allow storage in the port, ie the load is stowed and the ship is dispatched immediately. Are considered direct costs of treatment:
Cargo Warehouse subject is one that can remain in the port with certain requirements provided by the companies that manage the front of berths (EPI and / or ITI, as the case may be). Subsequently, the background of this charge storage conditions are presented to the Maritime Authority for approval or rejection. For the treatment of dangerous cargo, the security elements depend only on the type or class of cargo and the conditions that come stowed. |
