According to the provisions of Law No. 19,542 of "Modernization of the State Port Sector", March 15, 2000 was the Port Coordination Committee of Public Service, created by Supreme Decree No. 105 of 1999 and aimed is to ensure proper coordination of the organs of state administration to act within the port and establish the forms of action necessary to comply with the provisions of Article 2 of this Decree, taking into consideration the following objectives: a.- The provision on a continuing and permanent port services in a non-discriminatory b.- The improvement in productivity levels and efficiency of port operation Such a coordinating body that by law must exist at each port state, comprises: - The Governor of the respective sea port or his representative - The Regional Customs Director or Administrator of Customs or their respective representative - The Director of Health Services, or her representative - Director of the Regional Agricultural and Livestock Service, or her representative - The Regional Chief of the Police Department or his representative - The General Manager of the respective Port, which in turn serves as executive secretary of the committee. The decisions taken by this committee and its operating rules and procedures established, will be made public. Also, the committee shall report annually to the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, which include those of operational failures or regulatory gaps it identifies in implementing the tasks entrusted to it and can not be solved by the respective committee as also the proposition that it deems appropriate actions are taken to address them. |
